Friday Finds: A Charming Mailbox Surprise & Cozy Reading Moments

Hi Reader,

I have a couple of things I can't wait to tell you about this week.

First up is The Forever Post.

There is something so special about getting mail that isn't bills or junk. The Forever Post delivers beautifully crafted serialized fiction letters right to your mailbox every two weeks, and I am completely charmed by the experience.

I'm currently reading Desire & Lies, and there is something wonderfully immersive about stories told in epistolary form. Adding the anticipation of waiting for the next letter to arrive makes the story feel even more personal and memorable.

I already find myself looking forward to the next delivery so I can settle in with my coffee and catch up on the latest news from Patricia and Margaret.

Honestly, it feels a little like discovering an old forgotten letter tucked inside a beloved book.

I think my next adventure with The Forever Post may be Letters from Dr. Alzheimer.

Next up is one of my favorite recent discoveries: my daughters and I started our very own book club.

We agree on a book, read to a set point, and then hop on a group call over the weekend to talk about it together. Our first pick was Shifting & Shenanigans by Elizabeth Pantley — a cozy mystery adventure filled with an enchanted library and a delightfully sassy talking cat.

More on the book club next week. Let's just say the grandkids decided it was only fair that I start a book club with them too.

What about you? Are you part of a book club, online reading group, or buddy read? I'd love to hear your favorite part of the experience.

We've also been having a thoughtful little discussion on the blog this week about World War II and moral choices — which sounds heavier than it really is.

The conversation grew out of my spotlight on Padlocked by p.m. terrell and turned into a fascinating discussion about ordinary lives, extraordinary choices, and the quiet courage people sometimes carry unseen.

I'd truly love for you to join the conversation.https://ginaraemitchell.com/padlocked-by-p-m-terrell/

Hi friends, June seems to be the season of gathering. This weekend our family is celebrating a birthday, a graduation, and Father's Day all at once, which has me thinking about the stories, traditions, and favorite recipes that somehow find their way into every family gathering. That theme found its way into this week's Friday Finds as well. Inside you'll discover four books that took me from Regency England to the fascinating world of seed preservation and the future of our food supply. I...

Hi Reader, This week took me from Victorian England to the Himalayas and finally to an Australian memoir filled with globe-trotting adventures, questionable decisions, and more than a few stories that left me shaking my head and laughing. One of the things I love most about reviewing books is that I never quite know where they'll take me next. I've also been thinking about the little routines that help us slow down. Sometimes it's as simple as a cup of coffee, a favorite chair, a good book,...
