Hi , Reader, This week’s Friday Finds somehow turned into a celebration of Spring, slower afternoons, and all the little things that make life feel softer and more peaceful. Honestly, I didn’t even realize that was the theme while I was putting everything together. Then suddenly there were hammocks, butterfly houses, outdoor cooking tools, calming craft projects, and books that felt perfect for reading with the windows open. I suppose my brain officially decided Winter is over. ——————— One of my favorite discoveries this week was reconnecting with indie author Kyrie Wang. You may remember her fantasy novel Forbidden Ties from a few years ago. Since then, the book has been refreshed and expanded into Healer’s Blade, which later became a BBNYA semifinalist. I always love seeing indie authors continue growing into their stories over time. There’s something really special about watching a book evolve and find new readers. If you enjoy immersive historical fantasy with strong emotional depth and adventure, this one is well worth a look. ——————— I also stumbled across the prettiest little coastal-inspired craft kit this week. The project uses real clam shells collected from New Jersey beaches and turns them into delicate decoupage trinket dishes. It feels like exactly the sort of thing someone would make during a quiet afternoon with music playing softly in the background and a cup of tea nearby. Apparently this week’s Friday Finds became my “slow living” edition. And honestly? I’m not mad about it. ——————— I’d also love your help with this week’s Reader Question: What’s your favorite way to relax outdoors once the weather finally turns nice again? Are you: Or something completely different? I always love hearing how readers spend these little peaceful moments. ——————— And of course, if you’d like the full collection of this week’s books, reader extras, and Spring-inspired finds, you can visit this week’s Friday Finds here: https://ginaraemitchell.com/friday-finds-may-15-2026/ Wishing you a peaceful weekend, beautiful weather, and the perfect book for a quiet afternoon. Gina's Friday Finds | May 22, 2026 Hi Reader, As Memorial Day weekend approaches, I’ve been thinking a lot about the moments that quietly bring people together — outdoor dinners that stretch long after sunset, favorite family recipes, stories shared around the table, and the simple comfort of spending time with people we love.
